Hey, so my SNAP/food stamp benefits have been cut off for the time being. I’m working on getting them back but unfortunately, bureaucracy. The cost of my testosterone (which I really need to function) has gone up as well. I’m doing bits of work through Amazon’s MTurk service but it’s not a terribly steady income source. LMAO I AM NOT CAPABLE OF WRITING ANYTHING BESIDES PRESENT TENSE ANYMORE………………………………. i can’t remember when this happened. i dont know HOW it happened. THERE WAS LIKE. ONE THING I WROTE A WHILE AGO. WHERE I ACCIDENTALLY DID IT IN PAST TENSE. but other than that it just HAPPENS AUTOMATICALLY NOW i guess. i like it though, it’s very??? streamlined i guess???? and very ~~in the moment~~ obviously, and sort of experimental but not in a way that’s distracting. past tense is more “here is a story, i am telling you this story” and present tense is like “HANG OUT W THESE REAL PEOPLE THESE THINGS ARE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.” i dont know if i’ve done (or read??) anything exclusively in future tense but i feel like you could do some interesting things w it if you could prevent it from getting too clunky. OBVIOUSLY I AM NOT THE PERSON FOR THAT JOB

ppppacing…………………….. my nemesis. i will be on my deathbed like FUCK YOU TOO PACING. FUCK YOU. it’s very. it’s not something that really occurs to me as i’m going except in a VERY MACRO sense so when i’m going back and editing i’m like “wtf??? why is this so weird?????” PACING STRIKES AGAIN!!! also follow-through. writing anything substantial that’s not just like. little baby vignettes. which i guess has a lot to do w the fact that i dont. like plot??? ALL I WRITE IS FEELINGS………………… AND PEOPLE TALKING…………………………….. so anytime i try to write something that actually has Stuff Happening it’s like. 1000 words of ppl talking about their feelings. line break. ‘[ALL OF THIS STUFF HAPPENS]’ in the middle of the page. more talking about feelings. fic over. which is acceptable when you’re just sending something to like two people but less so. if you want to post it on the internet. hgmghgmmm what else. consistency of voice. not having boring-ass repetitive sentences while i’m writing 6047272 LINES OF DIALOGUE. also im a sap

out of things that continue to be acceptable for actual human consumption the katie fic is honestly like. IM SATISFIED WITH THAT BEING MY MARK ON THE WORLD??? remember me as i was: reminding everyone that Katie Knight Is So Important with my last breath. i like the structure + the tone of it, and it feels like it fills what AT THAT POINT was a glaringly obvious gap in the fandom. THERE ARE OTHER THINGS THAT I’M ALSO HAPPY WITH like i’m working on something right now that like OBVIOUSLY IT’S HARD TO JUDGE WHILE YOU’RE IN IT but it’s honestly hitting pretty much all the notes i want it to?? and there are……………….. additional things………………………………………. that will probably never be read by anyone ever again. but i still like them.
8. is there a character you love writing for the most? the least? why?
FRANZISKAAAAAAAAAA VON KARMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA and freddie lounds by— not “by extension,” obviously, but it’s a very similar kind of process for each. and i mean like. OBVIOUSLY you are going to enjoy writing characters that you super identify with, that’s a given, but it’s. writing so much freddie now and writing so much franziska back during gsrp in 08-09— when someone clicks with you like that there’s a very specific kind of rhythm you slip into?? it becomes much more about feel than about conscious planning. not in a “I’M JUST GONNA WRITE WHAT I WOULD DO IN THIS SITUATION” sense, but in the way where everything kind of flows naturally from that root understanding?? and when something’s off you can tell immediately. like when you look at a word you spelled wrong and right away you’re like “oh yeah that’s not right.” that sort of feeling. IDK IT’S…………. NICE………………………………………….
who else. alex wilder is a character who i LOVE writing for but i’m constantly second-guessing myself as to whether i’m swinging too wildly to one extreme or the other. abel gideon sort of similarly??? LOVE WRITING. AS A LATER ASK WILL CORROBORATE SHORTLY i am VERY happy with the way i do dialogue SOMETIMES TO THE POINT OF OVERRELIANCE ON IT WHICH I GUESS……… WOULD ALSO BE A WEAKNESS……………………………. ‘olivia is anything going to happen in this story’ ‘no. its just people. talking. forever. until you die.’ but i am like!! i think i’m good with different voices and back-and-forth and maintaining the rhythm i want IT’S SOMETHING THAT COMES VERY NATURALLY TO ME I GUESS????? very often i have just long strings of dialogue planned and then i sit down and im like “fuck i guess i have to type other words besides TALKING” and then i fuck it up. um. what else. group scenes. that qualifies as dialogue probably but I LOVE JUST HAVING A BUNCH OF PEOPLE IN THE SAME PLACE I LOVE THAT ENERGY. im also……….. id ont want to talk about “tone” bc i dont know if that’s quite what i mean but normally i feel like i hit the emotional beats i want to communicate. idk. i’ve never looked back at something and been like MAN THAT WASN’T HOW THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO FEEL AT ALL so
